i've installed WP 2.0.2. bleh. given a choice between not having pingbacks and getting:

at the end of post pages.... i choose the error. it looks ugly, but
- it stands a chance of being fixed
- it doesn't affect the basic functioning of my blog.
i have tried this php hack, unsuccessfully.
so far, extended live archives are broken, i have no idea why. i used 24fightingchickens' trick of reverting permalinks and that didn't help. also, i had the same problem with needing to log out and delete /wp-content/cache before i could use the admin interface.
UPDATE: i actually managed to properly config a testblog (after a good half dozen tries with different versions of WP2.0.x and various betas). the testblog doesn't show the error. maybe it's my fault.
